Following my win with the black and white challenge (bw-56) I set up a new black and white challenge called black and white panning and said to tag entries "bw-57", Someone has just brought it to my attention that there are already a large number of street scene images that I have been tagged "bw-57". I note the photos were uploaded in 2010. What should I do now?
That sure is a pain in the butt!
It has happened before but this should not be too big of a problem.
You could either change the tag. (bw-57a or bw-57-2020 or anything that differentiates the two challenges)
OR
You can keep the same tag but just be careful with the dates the photos were uploaded to make sure you short-list only the ones from your challenge.
The photos tagged from 2010 will be behind the ones tagged for your challenge since they are USUALLY in order in which they were posted.
Be sure to check both tags if you do decide to change the tag just in case someone did not realize the change.
I know that this has put a lot more responsibility on you, and that is truly unfortunate.
Thanks @markp and @farmreporter or your responses. I've gone with Wendy's suggestion and have put a post on "Themes and Competitions" letting people know about the change. A trap for new players!
