I made my final decision

March 10th, 2011
I have to stop working on my 365 project. Lately, I haven't been taking any good photos. I just randomly take photos of objects using auto on my DSLR. To be honest I am uncomfortable taking a photo a day. I feel so rush in (a bad way). I like to take a little more time in creating good photos. Also, I am having a hard juggling with a few issues. My account will be shut down soon. Thank you everybody for your comments on my photos.

Hey stefanie - do this project for yourself and don't feel pressured to add every single day:-( i know lots of people don't. I have 4 kids two of them with an illness so i don;t "take" a pic to add every day i wish i had the time to do so. Take care

Well, I think maybe you feel that 365 has taken over and you HAVE to post something every day?

Why not keep the account and just upload photos when you want and take back control maybe concentrate on getting only one photo a week? Whatever you do don't close the account cos in a few weeks/months you may feel different, but good luck and best wishes whatever you do.

Surely the whole point of the project is to encourage the habit of taking something every day, not to make it a chore. Don't feel discouraged; nobody is going to come running after you if you miss a day, so why not take your time if you want to? It's your choice, so enjoy!!

yes i agree with others... i have also had to take a day here or there off... actually i always take a picture a day ... but i let myself be at choice re: whether or not to post/share every day. photography should be something we enjoy ... i notice too my perfectionism can get in the way esp if i think i have to do this and i'm looking at my images through what i imagine others will say which does not bode well for my creative process which asks of us to take time to let ideas images theme percolate...and when i'm not in a place to post i like to just be the observer a big part of this 365 journey is getting to see what others are up to... and being a part of a communal creative process and getting to know people from around the world through their vision of their world -- which really is such a gift.

Ditto all above. I doubt anyone will care that you don't post every day and no one will care if it's "good" or not. This is all about you and what YOU want to do. If you enjoy photography, do what you can when you want. If you don't enjoy it, then yup, time to quit! I, for one, hope you stay!! :-D

I agree with above, This is supposed to be fun and for YOU, I have loads of gaps in my project as I thought the photograph I took on some days, was not good enough, and then I realised, no one is judging me , what ever I post, It the the photograph I took for MY project and it happened in my life now. I do hope you stay on and it will become a pleasure for you. Good luck whatever you decide.

When I started my own 365 project, I told myself going in that there was no way I would be able to take a picture Every. Single. Day. Realizing that the goal of the project WAS a picture a day, I decided (arbitrarily) that I would try to stick to a one-day 'buffer'. If I have a long day at work, or a late meeting, or the inspiration is just dry, I don't take a picture, and then I try to get caught up the next day. Or, if I know I've got a really busy couple days coming up, I might try and work two or three pictures ahead.

Just last week, I hit a bad spell; the days that I had a little bit of free time, I had zero inspiration. This weekend, I had a fun little photo shoot with my nephew, so I got caught up - but I was very near digging through my archives of thousands of photos to find a couple good ones to fill the gaps with.

Nobody is FORCING one photo a day - relax that restriction on yourself, and enjoy the project at your own pace!

Yep I agree with every one above. WhenI joined I was realistic as there was no way in hell I was going to be able to take a photo every day as I work full time, go to uni and have a young family. MY 365 project was never about taking a photo every day, it's more about uploading one. So if I have a day where I take 5 or so shots that I am happy with then I'll post them over a 5 day period if I don't get a chance to take something else.

The last thing I wanted this project to do was take the joy out of photography so I do it as I want to. As the others have said, do it how you want to. No point putting pressure on yourself.

I joined the project to bring back photography in my life - not necessarily be bound to taking a picture a day! This should be a fun experience, not a deadline.

During the work week, I have no time to take photos. I mainly take them on the weekend and then upload one a day.

Agree with every one above,
no need to stop your 365 completely .
Do not force your self ,
If you miss a day or few days , word will not end for that.

happy shooting. :)

Just have fun with it. If you have an opportunity, take the time to take a good shot, or if not just shoot something random from your everyday life.

I can understand your feeling of being overwhelmed and feeling pressured. Been there. Done that. I would love to see you stay in the 365 project and just post a photo whenever you can. Perhaps taking a photo without any pressure will be a good way for you to destress.

Just enjoy 365 project. This is not a community to pressure someone, this community is to gain friends, learn things in photography, be inspired, release stress and pressure, make yourself and others happy, fulfill your goal, achieve something you think you might not be able to be...... and a lot more. This community offers a lot of things, i have seen other photography community but this one is really exceptionally great. it is really worth joining.
you may feel down sometimes because you cannot come up with a good photo, but remember that whatever you post here means something special , because that is what you view and that is what you felt when you shot that. that is what you call LIFE, A PART OF YOUR LIFE. and since all photos are part of our lives then it is special whatever you shoot.
I just hope you won't leave.. hang on and you'll see , it will do you good and great.
