Hi this is just more of a question aimed at the guy who closed my topic, i asked the question i did to see if this site was right for me or not, if that is wrong then sorry, i only just joined and needed to know if perhaps it was right or not for me to join. :( Sorry if that was wrong.

NB I am writing this here because i can not work out if i can send messages or not

Hi, just so you know, the guy who closed your thread is the site creator. This site is for photography, and general learning. I don't think that age has any relevance. In other words, it it not really meant to be a myspace or a facebook type social network.

On the logon page, it is laid out what this site attempts to accomplish for those interested. If that is not your thing, then it is not. If it is, then welcome to our world!

Hi thats what i was hoping for, i just wasn't sure. I guess i just felt a little put off when my topic was closed and i didnt get a chance to explain my reasoning. Thanks for your help, i have always loved photography and to find a site like this is great thanks for the help again and i am sorry to be a trouble!

I dont think you are trouble. You asked a question, but like you said, didnt explain it. Shoot away. If you like photography, you can learn a lot here. I know I have so far!

OK cool. One thing, I have no idea where to begin! What sort of things do I photograph? Anything? One thing? People? Objects? I am so easy to confuse!

Shoot whatever you like. The site does have weekly themes to help with inspiration, and sometimes other littles challenge ideas but no pressure to join in if you don't want. I think there is a 1-10 challenge running at the moment (check the other topics for details).

But just take photos - post them up - have a look at others photos - make some comments - but most of all enjoy it!

What Murray said. I look at an album as a daily journal in images, personally. It is amazing how your eyes open up more as you do this, and you see things you never thought of before.

Welcome to the site! Just take pictures of whatever catches your eye that day, something that reflects your day...an object, a person, a location, someway the light catches something, a landscape, an insect etc etc. Browse around the site and look at what appeals to other people. You will lean towards folk who have a style you like, follow them and see their pictures each day. They will look at your photos and if you're lucky they will make a comment! If you're very lucky many people will look at an image and it may appear on the popular page. To me that is sooooo encouraging! Most of all enjoy and watch out for addiction symptoms!!

Yes, Welcome! Since I started this project, I have been looking my life and world around me more closely and probably have learned to appreciate every-day things more than before. I try to photograph something that happens to me that day, or capture the mood I am in that day, or some object I see that day - anything really! I feel like this is a diary of 2010 - something to look back later. I just take pictures, most of them are not good technically or not very creative but it is my life! :)
