Converting to RAW suggestions

GIMP won't read my RAW files, and my Photoshop is on another computer.
Any suggestions for a RAW converter?

I use one called UFRaw, that works with GIMP too.

I think you download free utilities from both canon and nikon...

@killerjackalope Well, if you imagined it we're sharing hallucinations, which would just be scary :p

And yep, you should be able to download. Personally I think the Canon one (have no experience with other brands) sucks compared to the Photoshop RAW editor, but if you're out and about and don't have PS with you then it does the job.

@microart I'm a PS man myself, got a portable one on the flash drive for those situations but it's better than nothing...

Funny because I almost always shoot jpegs, simply for people I work for's benefit, even though I love playing with RAW so much more than what I do with jpegs, the freedom is awesome...

@axel I had this problem a few weeks back and we downloaded (well hubby did) UFRaw to go with GIMP and was easy to do once d/l.
