As you guys probably know by now, our lovely friends over at Facebook have deleted our app twice, forcing our tons of users to have to manually post our pics to facebook. Fine and dandy, yeah. I can handle manual posting.
But that doesn't prevent the fact that the principle of the whole thing is messed up. Any explanation why? No. Not even a day after Ross fixed the problem the first time and made a new app, they deleted it again. And yet again, no explanation. And it takes an act of God just to contact them about it....
So.
If you think this is a bunch of junk and want to bombard Facebook with complaints simply on principle, feel free to click this link and either comment, and/or ask the same question I did. I figure it may get some attention if we do that. Or maybe not, but whatever. Made me feel better. :)
I did the same as Emma. I’ll check out Tammy’s link. We need to bombard them. With all of the junk applications on FB, I don’t understand what their problem is wtih this one.
@amyhughes I honestly don't believe it will work. Facebook is facebook and is just annoying like that. For example....
My husband and I run an online game ( http://walkmyplank.net for those interested) that he hand wrote the code for. Once we decided to add a facebook ap things had to be rewritten for facebook. Enter another month or two of heavy coding on his part, then FB goes and changes things right when we implemented it and of course everything was messed up. Enter another few weeks of solid frantic fixes (all the while dealing with people who were upset at not being rewarded because facebook had screwed up but blaming us).
Now, it works a bit, but not the way it was intended. Our posts will show up on peoples walls but not in their newsfeed which is what it was intended to do, to entice new players into the game.
None of our mails or complaints have been responded to by fb.
I don't know about you but I'm about ready to give up on Facebook altogether. I only keep it for family, some friends, and 365 well until all of this happened just so sick of facebook thinking they can do as they wish. Will submit but not sure it will do much good!
seriously the only way facebook will notice is if we all just quit facebook and tell them why...this topic has made me consider quiting facebook altogether
I hate FBs photo area. So now what I am doing is pasting the link for my 365 on by status. It puts the picture there and the link. So it is almost the same as when the 365 drops in on FB. I refuse to use their photo link it stinks!
I'm With Beth. I was forced to get facebook the end off last year for family and some friends. But finding and joining 365 was a much better idea and the facebook link was great cos I didn't need to deal with facebook. Now I think I'll just stick with 365 and ignore facebook. :o)
I complained too but I don't think for a minute that anyone there will care or do anything. Facebook deletes apps that are supposedly against their terms of service but when you try to click on the link to their terms that they provide - it's broken. What a surprise, huh?
Facebook is free....so I don't expect a lot out of them. If an app doesn't work, do they really care?
Oh, and I also use the "Share on Facebook" link on my toolbar to link to FB. Takes two seconds and never any hassle. :)
done...and done...I agree will probably not do any good, but who knows, we are part of their community, and our friends make up an even bigger part of it...no community= no facebook so maybe?
I must say that I am glad that I am not the only one with this problem, but aside from legal action, I doubt anyone from Facebook will take the time to fix this issue. It is a shame too, since they have no problem letting so many scams continue on Facebook without and known consequence.
At least 365project knows how to focus on the true purpose of a website. Please don't change!
I can't see Facebook doing anything about it but I'll certainly submit a question. It's bloody annoying as a lot of people on my Facebook have been asking about it recently. Facebook butchers photos too much for me to bother with uploading to there.
I went and "asked the same question". I have to agree though that since it's a free site there is rarely anything that can be done when they make up their minds to do something. It's about the same as talking to Yahoo. I have though on one occasion seen Yahoo change their 'improvement' back to the way it was after an uproar from 90% of their users.
What a bad decision by them to delete this app. I mean really, why?
Can someone help me with the Facebook Application? I have friends whose application is obviously working, but whenever I check the page linked in the blog, it takes me to a page stating "does not exist". Am I doing something wrong? Would anyone know what it is that I am doing wrong? :( Or is the app still not properly working? Thanks for all your help!

Why would they feel the need to delete the 365 app...????
