I am planning to buy Canon 5d Mark II. Please give me your valuable suggestion about the perfect Lens kit for canon 5d Mark II. Also suggest the best Macro photography lens for Canon 5d. A complete professional package.
My list would be
Canon 5d mark II+ canon EF 28-135 mm IS lens + Canon 70-300 mm IS lens+ a macro lens which i am not sure of
Within a budget of 4000USD
Please check the web page , Is it a fair deal or not .
Keeping in mind that the camera does not make you professional....... A professional camera setup is quite handy.. I am quite biased to Nikon products, so I'd recommend the Nikon. The Canon 5d is also a great camera, but I'm a Nikon user.
I'd suggest to go to your local camera shop and use both of the demo cameras to get a feel for what you might like better.
Lenses: Depending on what you plan to use them for .. factor in the crop of the digital camera. Your 28mm could be a 35mm lens after the crop.. You may consider going wider.. like, 18-70mm and 70-200mm..
In addition to what Mike says I'd add the following...
The lenses you refer to are kit lenses or not much better. If you're going for a 5d then I'd consider a wider zoom, the 17-40mm f4 is nice without breaking the bank (I've owned one of these myself and loved it).
Thanks Deans For the valuable suggestions. I did go through the link and also checked some video and pics shot Using 17-40mm f4 ,its quiet impressive.
Thanks again for taking time to help me out .
thanks steven for that one valuable point that you made.
I have decided i will Go for a Canon 5D mark II with Canon-EF 24-105mm f 4 L IS USM Lens . It will be good enough for now. 17-40 mm f4 will only be in my Wish list for now.
Thanks for all your help guys!!
Yes, that's the one. We have the 24-105 F4 lens and the 5D MarkII (bought together as a kit) we're happy with it. But with that lens you should consider a good flash for when the light is low.
However, if you want to shoot with more natural light without the flash, I'm suggesting the 85mm F1.8. It's great prime portrait lens that works well in low light. The other 85mm F1.2L canon sells costs over $2000.
Also, I'll throw this combo out to confuse you more. Canon 7D with Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8L, Great camera and an amazing lens. Plus you should have some room to get the accessories you would like. But, if you want to shoot wide angle landscapes, stick with the full frame sensor in the 5D.
My purpose is not just taking picture but also to get used to making Videos. So i am considering Canon 5d mark II + 24-105 mm f4 lens + canon EF 17-40mm f4 L( which has a good depth)Also have plan to buy accessories like THE EVENT which i saw on Youtube. Designed to improve video recording using 5d.
And David, 85mm f1.2 L is really expensive .So not considering it for now. You confuse me with 5d and 7d. I better stick to 5d. Hope canon won't launch 5d mark III with improved options after i buy Canon 5d mark II. Well i really have to think twice.
well, david thanks for so much of insight on this topic. Thanks for helping. I really appreciate it
Canon 85mm f/1.8. is good and affordable also considering that. The main issue is i find cost much lower for cannon 5d kit on e-bay , amazon and all. But to buy in India its even more costlier. Moreover if i buy through internet i may not get the warranty. . So its risky.

Check out reviews of lenses at Fed Miranda's site:-

You may also want to consider a prime or two. A nice 35mm f2 makes a nice 'standard' lens on a crop sensor, again, not too expensive and nice quality.
For a longer zoom the 100-400 IS is the only real option unless you fancy the Sigma 100-300mm f4 (another lens I have owned and which is very nice).

Mike & Dean >>>> thanks a lot .
