I know it is always a big concern for the 365 community not to upload offensive nude photos. Now I would just like to consult before uploading. I have taken this really nice pic, but I am not sure if it will be allowed. Would u please be so kind to view it by following the link and give me you opinion before I upload it, otherwise I wont upload it.
I don't see anything offensive about it. It looks artistic to me and I think if anyone has any complaints about it, it says more about them than about your photo.
@smartie I like this shot alot and would not have a problem with my kids seeing it.
I supppose some people may object to the nipples being on view but I have seen plenty of shots on here that show mens nipples that have not caused a stir so it will be interesting to see what other people think about it :D
I also don't see any problem with it. But then again, my children have seen many a nipple from being raised in an extremely breastfeeding friendly household. That being said, even if they hadn't, this is an extremely artsy and expressive photo. Go for it.
@jsillabub@jinximages@frameit@cazink@psychographer@smartie@manek43509@nicolekos@gavincci I am new to this 365 project. i love this photo, but now comes the question. What would be offensive when you get full nude picture that are just as artistic. Where do u draw the line? I would love to get inot nude photography myself, so where do I draw the line?
offensive nude photos is another mans art.
photos of cute puppies and kitties are offensive to some...
adults site... yes some children are on here.. but parents should be supervising and if they arent then their children will be exposed...
Just do it if people don't like it they don't have to look, why do most people take the crude side of things artist have been painting nudes for years but they call that artwhy not the same with a camera.
Post it. it is in good taste. i don't see anything wrong about it. it tells a story of lust, passion and loneliness for me. and i suggest this is perfect in black and white. because the subject is very expressive. that's only my suggestion :) great work!
@smartie Thanks. I would like to know what the others think. John I agree with you so much @hobgoblinwychwo! If people can paint nude shots, why not do it with a camera, it is still art.
I don't have a problem with @johno's photo. I have a painting of a nude lady which I love. I think it's a print of a Degas and as you've said people don't have a problem with paintings so why have a problem with photos. It's a matter of being tasteful.
Hi Riaan, thanks for consulting! I seem to be swimming against the tide but I am vehemently of the view that a naked woman's picture is generally titillation - why draw the line at nipples? let the men get their bits and pieces out and let's see if it's still deemed 'artistic'.
This website could easily become tawdry, I have enjoyed everything except the naked women - so can I make a plea that these types of photos be kept to an absolute minimum! Just because a picture is black and white does not make it arty.
@skintbint Thanks a lot for your opinion st. i do find it strange that you have a photo in your album of a lil boy with his shirt open... cos a pedophile might also find that attractive. i dont want to start a argument. But in any photo people can see harm in and art, it differs from person to person.
For me it is Elegant and with sensitivity of inner feeling, always a story of loneliness and passion.
I prefer looking at nude photos in Black and White because it gives more drama, it gives more intense scene that captures the emotion not only of the photographer but also the model.
Great work. :)
@smartie I'm not into it, but I don't disagree with it. For me, artistic nudes need to be clearly artistic rather than voyeristic - anything as intimate as a nude image must, in my mind, be empowering and respectful to the subject. That's why I dislike many nudes - they reduce the subject person - and that diminishes the artist too, IMO.
@johno I know art is subjective, but there is also the issue of being educated (or not) in regards to the quality of art. It's the same reason pro photogs generally steer clear of techniques like selective color in our images - we "just know" that it is tacky. Of course, that doesn't mean people don't like it, but it does mean many of us educate our clients regarding what makes a good photo. Elitist? Maybe. I don't care.
Oh, John, please don't take any of that to mean I think your photo is bad - it just isn't my style, is what I meant in my first line.
I think the difference between nude portraiture and pornography comes down mostly to what the artist was trying to achieve- to show off a human body with it's miriad of curves, shadows, lines etc, or to show off the human body as only something to cause an erection etc.
I could well imagine that the same shot could be used for both things but to me , there is a difference- nude as art is subtle, nude as porn is obvious, if that makes any sense. Art keeps some of the mystery, both the shots shown on here demonstrate that, in neither shot is everything displayed brashly, the lighting is subtle, it's intriguing.
As I grow older I come to realise more and more what my mother saw in creating nude portraits by hand (ie pencil, brush etc, not camera. ) I don't think she did any nude photography but I certainly saw some of her nude still lifes...and they were a study of the body. I'm becoming more interested in it myself but don't think my husband would agree to be a model lol.

I wouldn't.

How about this photo? i have taken this a while ago and after seeing this thread i thought I would upload it.
@johno I really like your photo a lot!!!!! Lets ask the other guys on here. what do you think about John's photo above?
@jsillabub @jinximages @frameit @cazink @psychographer @manek43509 @nicolekos @gavincci @5unflow3r @blueburn11 @nikkers
Again, I have no problem with that. (In fact, I wish I could shoot portraits like that! But that's another issue...)
To be honest, there are far more offensive things on the internet - and, indeed, in life generally - than a photograph, no matter what's in it.
This website could easily become tawdry, I have enjoyed everything except the naked women - so can I make a plea that these types of photos be kept to an absolute minimum! Just because a picture is black and white does not make it arty.
