It was such a moment for me that I just HAVE to share it with you!
I can't believe it! I wasn't even on the schedule to work yesterday but I wound up at the World Bird Sanctuary yesterday (because I can't stay away). I decided to see if they needed any help and found myself cleaning jumpboxes down at the lower site (WBS has two distinct areas - upper site is public access and lower site is the behind the scenes area with no public access). While there, I got to have the best moment ever since I started volunteering at WBS last spring. MY FIRST EAGLE ON MY GLOVE! This is a big deal! Not only is it my first eagle, it's my adopt-a-bird Tsavo, the Bateleur Eagle.
I'm so proud I can't even tell you. I'll have a portrait taken with my regular camera taken one of these days. This was such a spontaneous thing, all I could do was hand over my phone to mark the event!
