hey everybody! this is Shyane, hope you liked my punny title ;)
anyways, i would just like to thank all of you that participated in SOOC week!
So this thread is here so people can post their comments/feelings about the week, challenges they had, anything they want to share and most importantly... their FAVORITE sooc photo that they took. I know that there were some uh, disagreements on what sooc means but i think the general consensus was that no cropping, signatures or any post processing effects. As well as apps like hipstamatic for Iphones, andriods etc.
So post away and express yourself! :D
This ones mine.
I just love the look of the cracks in the glass.
It was such a fun experience, i really had to work on the basics and focus on them. i enjoyed myself :)
Even though I said I'd be editing this year, so far I've only edited one shot...and that was just to straighten it lol! I guess I've failed at editing :) I didn't enter the theme, but I guess this one is my fave of the week.
I have enjoyed the sooc week very much. I tried to take a variety of shots, indoors and outdoors, day time and night time and macro. I have a compact camera and I learnt more about how to change the settings when its in manual mode. My first shot of the week turned out to be my best:
@shyanewiegers - thanks for doing this! It was fun!! Different opinions make us all think harder as long as they are taken and meant with the best of intentions. The photos are all fantastic!
I really like adding effects to my photos, but I also really enjoy challenging myself to take great photos without the use of any editing. This photo was actually fun for me because it was not done at night. I purposely messed with my aperture/shutter settings to give it the feeling that it was done at night. It was a bit of a challenge and took about 30+ shots to get it just the way I wanted. :)
It has been interesting doing sooc, as even I with humble iPhoto often tweak a wee bit. However it has also been frustrating since the camera does lie (unless you are good at persuading it otherwise!)
I picked this photo as it captured for me the wetness of a Glasgow night, but also the brightness and atmosphere there is in the city - even in a narrow alley.

This is my favourite from the week and I didn't even want to tweak it one bit :-)
