I would like to see photos that tell a story about people helping people. These photos could be the humanitarian activity itself, but I really have in mind photos that represent that humanitarian act. And, please tell the story of why the photo is significant. Here's mine:
BRACELETS FOR UGANDA
The Child2Youth Foundation attempts to find sponsors for orphaned children in Uganda. Sponsors send money to support their children, as well as supplying goats, pigs, etc. A local lady, Judy Brown, recently visited Uganda, met her 8 sponsored kids, and brought supplies and gifts to them, and to clinics and schools. She wanted to get 2000 bracelets to take as gifts to kids on a return trip, and my wife, Linda, volunteered to make them all. Beads have been pouring in from donors all around the country, and so far she has made 670 in less than two months! She makes sparkly ones for the girls and wooden ones for the boys. There is a lot more to this story, but no way I could tell it all.
Hi Ross. Just an FYI the theme I chose for the upcoming week is going to be (assuming the other Ross approves) Helping Hands. Haha funny we had similar thought.
Thanks Ross for posting this. Will be great to see the good side of people, and what they do to help others. Amazing what you and your wife are doing. Does she still need beads?

The Forgotten Children's Fund
http://www.forgottenchildrensfund.org/About.htm
This volunteer group brings Christmas to families in need every year. Everything is donated by organizations and individuals from the warehouse, through the items given to the families, and the vehicles used for the Santa deliveries. Everything is either donated or run by volunteers. It's grown to bring Christmas to approximately 2,900 children. We are blessed to be a part of this every year. It's what makes our Christmas special to us.
Every time people give some money or food to children like these it is a humanitarian act. They live a very hard life and try to sell what little goods they have been able to make to any travellers or nomads who pass through.
@losthorizon Thanks, Beau. I will check with Linda, but I think she has enough beads for awhile. She will probably need more later. I hope everyone out there looks at the original post for your candle photo to read your story.

This woman fed this man a slice of orange. I thought it was a tender moment and I felt very lucky to capture it.
