Any interest in an "Abstract-Mundane" Challenge?

I love the idea of the Mundane Challenge, but in thinking about potential images, my mind always goes to the abstract. What do you thinkg about running an "Abstract-Mundane Challenge" dove-tailing onto the Mundane Challenge? In other words, whatever the topic of the Mundane Challenge is, we could have a separate little challenge with the same subject, but with the distinctly opposite objective of shooting the subject in a way that is it *not* immediately recognizable.

The winner of the challenge would not come up with a new topic since we would just go along side the Mundane Challenge, but the winner could still host the next challenge in terms of picking the images to vote on (or I could host it, I don't mind either way).

Anyway, just thought I'd see if there is any interest and if so, I'll start a thread after the new topic is chosen.

I definitely like the idea. Alongside "Mundane-Jar" we could have "Abstract-Jar", with a potentially different interest group for each, and each resulting in winners; with the winner of the Mundane portion picking the next object. I really like the idea!

a lot of people have already been doing that anyway, since the mundane object is not always obviously the star... so this would be ideal for the people that like doing their shots that way. I like the idea

I’d definitely be game for it. I tend to see in abstract which is probably why I didn’t realize a couple of the finalists I chose this round were more in that realm instead of being the blatant star of the show.

Great idea. I'm with you. Although I'd love to be involved with the mundane challenge 1) I always seem to miss the postings about it until it's too late, and 2) If I did catch it I'd end up with an unrecognisable macro. I hope I get to see the post next time :o)

I think it's a great idea too. It'll be interesting to see the varying ideas on where abstraction begins and ends.
