Unusually for me, I came home with quite a few shots today that I felt could be published. Which made me think. The first point in the Getting Started Guide says "Take a photo every day". A photo. One. Singular. So in effect, I've been cheating, because I almost always take more than one photo, then choose what I consider the best of them to publish.
So I thought why not challenge myself to do what it says. One photo, every day. But only for a week, because I'm just not that masochistic that I'd want to do it every day for the rest of my project. Then I thought "And why not make it truly interesting? No editing. No cropping, no adjustment of angles, no increasing of contrast, nothing. Everything straight out of camera."
And then I thought I'd invite you lot to join me. So if you have a desire to inflict pain on yourself, please tag your photos for the week from 5th to 11th May (inclusive) with 365-hardcore Absolutely any subject you like each day, but only one photograph and photos must be sooc. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Heh, you're starting a Jim Brandenburg challenge. :) He did the "only one frame a day" for a bit longer, though... He did it for 90 days and the results were amazing (I don't think he went totally sooc with his shots, though). Published, if I don't remember wrong, in a book called Chased by the Light. http://www.jimbrandenburg.com/
Good luck with your project, I will not be participating. ;)
@Cheesebiscuit - well you have yourself a new follower. I like the idea. Not sure if this week is going to be the one that I would join in on. Got far too many to photograph over the next few days. But I may give it a crack in the near future.
I'm just in the process of inflicting pain. I'm doing the same Subject for a week ssfw tag and added some editing restrictions too. Very painful. Have fun.
we are all too vain for that, maybe if I take lots but delete all the blurry bleep ones in camera until there is only one left to download.....it actually would be a very good discipline for me but its Jerry Uelsman week!
@joa Ah okay. So great minds think alike? ;-D Don't think I'll make a book of mine though. The only reason being it would only be 7 pages long, of course *ahem*
@kali66 That's one reason I am doing it, in fact, for the discipline. I don't tend to take enough time thinking about what I'm going to do, knowing I can always just take another shot if it doesn't look right.
@mercuria Sorry, missed replying to your comment. Yes, exactly. Film. I have a film camera all loaded up, and thought this would be good training for that :)
@kjarn I don't tend to do much editing either, mostly just adjusting my horizontal or vertical lines and similar small things, but I thought if I'm going to restrict myself then I may as well go full on!
@Cheesebiscuit Hmmmm now there's a thought. I might see what I have around the house that I can use for shots like that today... if not then I will keep it in mind for when I am out and about and can pick some stuff up. It might not be in the 7 days of Fork 'N Fun & Frolicks though.
@Cheesebiscuit I was thinking it was a wonderful idea but I just couldnt round up any Fork sized chains and whips around the house... not for the lack of looking either. I may have to make them then have Fork visit again...just once :)
Ah ha ! Now at least SOME of your ramblings making sense, Mr. Biscuit.
I admire your courage.
Now, regarding Hong Kong Phooey. Here's what I'm surmising: Phooey:Suey :: Lift:List
and the Myfteriouf Mr. Bifcuit with his mysterious profile is the Incredible Mr. Shrink, shrinking his number of photos?
BTW I was a fan of HKPh. It aired from when I was 12 to 14. @Cheesebiscuit

but happy to watch you make yourself crazy!
Looking forward to seeing your results.
I do thank you all for your wishes of support though. It can't be that hard, can it? I'm worried what I've let myself in for, now!
