I've been asked to host the new ABSTRACT mundane challenge for THREAD. The winner of the last challenge was Filip, @filipolofsson who won with his abstract mundane image for GLASS:
Unfortunately, Filip hasn't posted since 22nd July, hopefully he's just taking a break and all is OK.
'The Abstract Mundane Challenge runs parallel with the Mundane Challenge, using the same object as chosen by the host of the Mundane Challenge. However, there is a distinct difference between the two. For the Mundane Challenge, the object must clearly be “the star” of the photo and recognizable. For the ABSTRACT Mundane Challenge, the object should not be immediately recognizable - it should be far more abstract.'
The original thread for this idea, was started by @mabelkitty.
As THREAD was chosen for the Mundane Challenge this time around by Kiran @ikamera , that will be the item/object we will be using as well.
Our Mundane Abstract Challenge officially starts today, The Challenge officially starts today August 2nd and runs through to end of Friday August 9th. The five finalists will then be announced at some point thereafter for voitng.
Here is what Kiran has said about her chosen item:
I had very difficult time thinking about the new object for the mundane challenge. Finally, I decided on 'Thread'. I generalized it as thread, but feel free to interpret it to anything that is used to tie/attach. It can be a ball of string, wool, sewing thread, rope etc. The reason for this wide interpretation is everybody ought to have one of these lying around and can be inspired to participate.
Please TAG your (multiple?!) entries ABSTRACT-THREAD and feel free to include them here also.
Any entries which do not fit the time frame will of course be admired but unfortunately not accepted.
All sorted :) Think i might have a stab at a couple of shots myself!
to get the ball (of thread) rolling
Thanks for taking the challenge hosting on again Darren.
