A big thank you to everybody who participated in and voted on the 23rd Mundane Challenge: Book. Thanks to Tracey @tracymore for hosting and choosing book as the mundane object. Books are close to my heart and I thoroughly enjoyed participating. Winning this challenge is like icing on cake.
This mundane theme was started by Aaron (@grizzlysghost) for those of us who may have lost inspiration. He suggested we take an ordinary, boring object and start shooting it. Turn the ordinary into the extraordinary!
Sooooo... this week's subject is a LIGHTBULB. You can use any photography or lighting technique: high key, low key, DOF, blur, forced perspective, bokehlicious, anything you can think up.
The only rule; there can be no question the object of the challenge is the star!
Tag your shots "mundane-lightbulb" and post your pictures on this thread for inspiration. Challenge runs from today August 27th to Wednesday September 4th. Voting starts right after. Have fun!
The following is a list of objects used so far for the challenge: toothbrush, screwdriver, veggie peeler, bar of soap, scissors, electrical plug, paperclip, jar, language, cardboard, toothpick, hex key, hair comb, screw, button, key, coin, ballpoint pen, shoe, glass, plastic bag, thread, and book.
*****IMPORTANT*****
Please be safe while playing with lightbulbs. I don't want anybody to get hurt while trying to make their image. :-)
@northy Yep Northy, all those cracked lightbulb shots are the ones that made me choose this object. Never done any bulb shots myself, so want to try my hand at them while getting to see all the imagination from others.
I did see the burning lightbulbs contest between two 365ers long back in my search. Will go and check out yours now. Sounds cool, no idea how to. The how-to page in that discussion is not coming up anymore. I thought I'll post that link here for inspiration. @northy
dad - I see spots and my eyebrows are hot...
son, you're pretty bright...
(this is what can happen when looking directly at lightbulbs for too long...)
Very interesting and cool entries so far. Just a reminder that today is the last day to get your entries in for this challenge. Grab a lightbulb and draw inspiration for your photo today. Looking forward to mull over the entries to pick my finalists. Good Luck!
Waiting to see yours.

Here's one of mine, don't know if I should count it as abstract or not, though, so I'm entering it for both.
I hope it isn't too abstract.
