The idea of Mad Minute Words is we present a strange (and/or lovely) word to you, and you draw from it as inspiration for your photo... to keep it acceptably mad, we're doing two words a week, one presented on Monday and another on Friday.
Monday's Mad Minute Word is...faitour- n. (obsolete); a deceiver or impostor, (especially one feigning or posing as a soothsayer).
I'm posting this a little early due to holiday celebrations, but I'll be checking out your photos come Wednesday. Thanks to Andreas for asking me to host this leg of our mad, mad journey. Have fun with this one- there's a lot of ways you can interpret it! Remember to tag your entry mmw-faitour. Please post your photo on September 4, 2013.
You can also post your entry on this thread, if you so wish.
Ladies, you three were the only brave souls to tackle this word! Would one of you like to host the next Monday installment or should I grab one of the folks named above?
@northy Thank you Northy! I was somewhat surprised at the small showing- are people becoming overrun with two mmw each week? If you will host the next one that will be great!
@olivetreeann interest has fallen off... And I think folks were having trouble keeping track and remembering to post on the right day... Maybe shld just go down to one a week?
@northy I think that's a great idea. Two was definitely overwhelming to me- I seem to be a challenge addict! I'm always doing at least one. And I was having a tough time remembering which day to post. It's good when you have one thing that's attached to one day- like black and white Wednesday. So I agree- go down to one.
@northy Yes, you are the black and white queen! hehe I can't stay focused on one or the other- I'm all over the place and even throw in sepia now and then. I'm always thinking which one will the subject look best in. I like them all. But I have always admired photographers who excel in black and white. It takes a very special talent to work with it all the time in mho. But yes, like Vikki says, you could invert your b/w Wednesday shots if you so desired. (o: if being the operative word there!
I only did mmw once and I get tagged for each challenge. I love the idea because what better way to learn new words than make a photograph out of it. Everytime I think I'd participate but I forget about it between of the other challenges or i forget the day I need to post. So, I really think having one word a week with flexibility to post between M-F is great. Also, may I suggest to showcase one photo from the entries of the previous word when the new post is made kinda like fiveplustwo is doing? This might motivate people a bit more. I'll try to participate regularly from now on.
@summerfield For a person with arthritis, flexible always sounds good- hehe! No, really, I think that's a great idea. I'm fine either way in the one or more category. I probably will only do one, but some folks might like the multiple entry mode. The only negative to that in my opinion is the person who has to look through all the entries to find the next host. But it's a minor detail.
@ikamera That's a great idea Kiran. Perhaps the photo could be the one the new host took.
