Hello! My name is Emily, and I am one of the few kids on 365 Project. I am 13 years old, and I just started a year and a half ago because my Aunt introduced it to me based off of my love of photography.
I just recently realized that the most fun part of doing 365 is getting comments on your photos - what people like about them, or critique from the experts! Has anyone else thought this as well?
So, in this discussion, please post if you agree with this. After people have looked at this and commented, then we can all look back at this later in the day or week and take a look at all of the wonderful 365ers who share the same thoughts. This will give us all a chance to look at each others photos and comment - just like we wanted!
I hope that everybody has fun with commenting back and forth here in this discussion and on each others pictures, and I am thankful to everybody who has given up some of their free time to comments on my own photos. :)
Hi Emily - I surely agree, that's half - or all - of the fun on here! I'd advise you to check out the mentor thread. I selected a mentor and already have received some really great advice. Also I find that if I specifically mention something about a photo that I am either unhappy or wondering about, I'll get more response on the topic.
I've seen a few youngsters on here, so welcome! Hope you learn lots on 365.
I agree Emily. I love getting comments and I like commenting on other peoples shots, too. There are so many wonderful pictures to look at on 365 Project.
I'm glad you are enjoying your project and are having fun taking pictures. I've learned a lot on here and know I can still learn a lot more.
@neuner123 Hello Emily, it is difficult to crtique every one of someone's images. After looking at several months of your images, it appears that you are trying different styles and settings. This is good. I would suggest two things: One is try to make each image tell a story. It can be simple (that is usually best) and make it obvious. Two is to work on composition. Forget the rule of thirds and study the golden ratio as the golden spiral, the golden rectangle, and the golden triangle. This will allow nice composition without the stiffness of the rule of thirds.
@jmrittle thank you so much for giving me the advice about the mentor; I've already found one and she has accepted! I probably wouldn't have ever found that without your comment. Thanks! :D
