Help! Desperately Need a Makeover: makemeover-5

June 22nd, 2014
I won! I won! -- won the makeover I so desperately need.

Thanks to Kiran's @ikamera choosing me from the "makeover artists" who worked on her photo, I now have the chance for the same. She's a good sport because the makeovers of her that I submitted were the very opposite of beautifying.

So here's a picture of me that I offer for you all to do with what you will. Did any of the rest of you spend a portion of your childhood cutting out paper dolls? My sister and I played with ones from the 50's and early 60's (our era) and also ones that had belonged to my mom and my aunt in the 1920's and early 30's. It was one of my favorite things to do. There was usually one posed somewhat like my picture below:

If it looks like I've been crudely cut out and pasted against a plain background, that's because it is. Lots of noise in this interior shot (I shudder at the thought that some of you will "view large" -- my photography skills and processing skills also need a makeover) so, since I was going for a paper-doll-like pose, I decided it would be appropriate to cut out the figure from the noise-filled gray wall behind and replace the wall with a no-noise gray layer.

I look forward with keen anticipation (and just a bit of trepidation) to seeing what you can do to make me over. I'm hoping someone can manage to improve my scrawny, wrinkly neck (hint, hint). I suppose it's too much to hope to be a Bollywood star, but I quite liked Seema's @soseema makeover of Kiran:

Sigh...I suppose only in my dreams.

So, today is Sunday the 22nd of June. Submit your makeovers by the end of next Sunday (29th of June) -- the end of the day wherever you are. I'll choose someone to get the next makeover on Monday the 30th. Then I go out of town on Tuesday -- maybe with a glamorous (or otherwise) makeover!

Tag your photos: makemeover-5

June 22nd, 2014
@soseema @tomservo @deburahiru @archielogical @brianarmoured @mikegifford @scarybird @ikamera Tagging those who did a makeover of Kiran (and Kiran herself). Is there an easier way to tag all the people who've submitted before other than going into each photo and copying their usernames one by one? I'd like to tag those who did makeovers of Wendy @photohoot , Mike, and Deb. But for the moment, I'll leave it at this.
June 22nd, 2014
Unfortunately, there is no other way. However, I made the list for you. Now, we can just carry over the tags into next challenges. These are everyone who participated in the previous makeover challenges, other than the ones you have already tagged.

Great starting picture for the makeover, Mary! There's lot to do with it. It's 4am where I live and I can't wait to do your makeover. I'm wide awake with excitement. Lol.

It's great that you made the job easier for us by cutting yourself out of the background and I like your pose too. :-)
June 22nd, 2014
@ikamera Bless you -- a thousand times bless you. I should have checked to see if you already did that on your thread. BTW, what are you doing awake at 4:00 AM? Wait...I don't really need to know.
June 23rd, 2014
Mary, I have this bad habit of checking my phone (email, 365, Facebook etc.) every time I am awake in the middle of the night. Lol.

Now, are you ready for your makeover? Stay tuned...

Here you go... I googled paper dolls and thought of giving you a makeover putting you into a doll outfit since you mentioned they are your favorite. Your pose also lends into it. Hope you like it.

Gone for the blatantly obvious this time, may add another attempt later in the week.
June 23rd, 2014
@archielogical so creative. What was obvious to you wouldn't have occurred to me. Thanks!

@ikamera Gosh, I feel like Barbie! You took care of the wrinkles in my neck and my thin straight hair. And, due to the miracles of Photoshop makeover, I'm wearing a strapless gown and it's not falling down! (I've never dared to wear one) This is fun.

Couldn't resist having another go, as on my project had 3 versions and finally decided on this one:

Excuse my crappy photoshop job on this one, Mary! But I thought I would give another try:

Mary, your workouts are working!

June 28th, 2014
@ikamera Whoa! All signs of age removed and a strapless gown! In my dreams! Thanks.

@mikegifford My God, Mike! I don't know what to say. The vintage layer has put it right on the border of needing to be censored. Ha ha At least you took some inches off my waist. Yeah, I'd send in my money to your PO Box for that program. But I'm not sure I love the scarring or horrible rash you left on the right side of my face. Burn victim? Very creative, in any case. Thanks!

@mcsiegle Mary, glad you liked it. It was a quick edit, not my best work and wasn't sure if I should post it.
June 29th, 2014
@ikamera This is amazing -- so fun and cleverly done! It does work so well with the pose.
June 29th, 2014
@taffy Taffy, thank you! :-)

@friloux I have never even DREAMED of being on the cover of Vogue. What a thrill! Great makeover. Thanks!
