** WWYD117 (Mt Hamilton) Open for Edits **

September 23rd, 2014
Thank you Lyn Todd for hosting the last WWYD116 Challenge, and to everyone who participated and voted!

The What Would You Do (WWYD) Challenge is about taking an image and adding a touch of your own style and creativity, and pushing yourself to possibly learn some new editing skills! There are no rules as such, edit the image any way you like - by changing exposure, crop, or colour balance, or use an editing program to add, delete or alter anything you wish to improve (or just change) the image, and perhaps as mentioned, learn or use some new post-editing techniques (layers, image extraction, blending, etc.)!

Here is your chance to try something new using free online editing programs, or that one you have, but don't really know how to use!!

How to enter the WWYD117 Challenge:

- Save the base image provided to your computer and edit it any way you'd like.
- The photo you edit must be uploaded into one of your albums to count for entry.
- To be considered you MUST TAG your PHOTO “WWYD117” in the tag section when you upload it.
- You can post your edits in this thread and I'll attempt to make comments. If you have questions about an editing technique as well, post that as well and I'll see if I can answer it!

Challenge opens now & finalists will be announced Tue Sept 30 in the evening Pacific time.

The shot below was taken about 1 year ago at the top of Mt Hamilton outside of San Jose California where the Lick Observatory is located. DO NOT let the exposure get in the way of your edit...there is a lot of detail in this image, and the opportunities are endless for a composite image! Now ...unleash your imagination....

Enjoy!

No composite or additions, just a significant clean up and tone, detail, edge and perspective recovery. The small jpeg (view large) source was most amenable to all the pushing and pulling.

I put the observatory in a mirrored box for safe keeping.
