Grant Wood, famous for the American Gothic image. He has a grainy texture to his work, stark images of people, and farm life. He also has some amazing lithographs. (In truth, I also selected him because he's from Iowa, not too far from me in Illinois...he went to the Art Institute of Chicago and I'm living near there...and I've seen American Gothic at the Art Institute of Chicago several times...a little local shout out).
He's easy enough to google!
The challenge goes until April 1st. Can't wait to see all of the images.
