May 8, 2015 will mark the 104th birthday of Blues Legend Robert Johnson...King of the Delta Blues. Born in 1911, and dead at the early age of 27, his playing, singing and style....plus the legends, myths and stories that followed in his wake make his influence on modern music undeniable.
So each year I try to pay tribute to the beautifully haunting music that is The Blues. Its a style that is sadly fading from the world, but one that should never be forgotten. So this is a small way of keeping its soul alive photographically.
Over the last 3 years, we have explored Mr. Johnson's history, the History of the Blues through the Locomotive, and to photographing Blues music in an Abstract form.
Being that this is probably the last year I'll be able to host this competition, I'm making it a free for all.
So the rules are as follows:
Capture the Essence of Blues Music any way you can. A song, a lyric, a tribute to a favorite Blues musician, abstract, trains, Hoodoo mysticism...anything, but it must pertain to the music of the Blues.
Competition will run from tomorrow May 1st to May 7th.
@amandal Try another version. Noir style Picasso. As for me, I have a few ideas I'm trying to set up for the week. If they don't work out, maybe I will try.
