NEW - Abstract Mundane Challenge - Gates

April 8th, 2016
Firstly a big thank you to @summerfield for hosting the competition and putting me in amongst the other worthy finalists. There were some great entries and I feel chuffed to have had so many votes. Thank you everyone who took part. What a fun challenge this is.

The Mundane Abstract Challenge has the same topic as the Mundane Challenge. The topic is chosen by the winner of the last Mundane Challenge. This last challenge was ably won by Barb @barb_b and she has chosen “GATES” for this segment of the challenge.

Your abstract image MUST DIFFER from any image you submit to the regular Mundane Challenge, so you cannot double tag your posts. You can be more imaginative in the use of the item for this abstract challenge. You are free and welcome to use any photographic technique you would like to portray this mundane object in an abstract way.

You may enter as many photos on the subject as you'd like, but they need to be taken during the challenge time frame to be considered for the finals. You may post your entries starting today, 8 April 2016 and until midnight on Sunday 17 April 2016 GMT. I will then select the finalists for voting to arrive at the next winner.

Please tag your entries: abstract-gates
You can see entries here

Please feel free to post your entries on this thread, as it might help to inspire others to participate and keep the thread alive for future challenges.

The winner of the abstract portion of this challenge will host the next challenge after the regular mundane object has been chosen.

Here is a list of objects that have already been used: ice, toothbrush, screwdriver, veggie peeler, bar of soap, scissors, electric plug, paper clip, jar, language, cardboard, toothpick, hex key, hair comb, screw, button, key, coin, ballpoint pen, shoe, glass, plastic bag, thread, books, lightbulb, toilet paper, envelopes, door handle, tea bag, broom, tin can, egg(s), shoelaces, clothes peg/pin, wheel, mailbox, pill, bottle, chain, zipper, seed(s), vegetable(s), cutlery, playing cards, mobile phone, pasta, chair, camera, blanket, paper, rubber, tack, hanger, index finger, mouse (non furry), sock, bubbles, candles, bread, beds, tap (faucet), strainer, match, umbrella, paintbrush/es, corkscrew, stairs, mirror, rock, cup/mug, knob, buckle, rake, power pole, box, clock, nail, gears, hinge, wastepaper-basket, hammer, cheese grater, ruler and glasses.

@helenhall Hi Helen, there seems to be a problem with the link in the commentary above - clicking on it does not take you to the entries for this challenge. Belinda

@adayinmallacoota ah...that will be why I didn't think there were any entries. I'm not sure what is wrong but will take a look as soon as I can. Thanks for letting me know.

@helenhall Fixed. I had a missing forward slash at the end of the link. So sorry about that. Thanks for entering too. Nice gate.
