and speaking of Tracy, she joins us as an official 5+2 member this week and you will have noticed that Graeme Stevens has gone out with a bang, we will miss his wonderful self portraits here but he is ably replaced by Domenico. Our membership has been in flux over the past few weeks but we are sure we now have a wonderful and dedicated team in place , and also exciting new themes for you to get your teeth into. So please join in, its so much more fun when you do!
This week we venture into the world of Lewis Carroll , through the Looking Glass. interpreting this classic story of whimsy and fantasy through selfies . Tag your ones fiveplustwo-throughthelookingglass
Thanks for the compliment. Not sure I qualify as queen but I'm definitely somewhere in the royal court. I have worked very hard over the last year to improve my astrophotography. I have had an amazing journey and learned so much. I have come so far but my journey is far from over. I have many improvements I can make yet, and better equipment to save for. I'm so glad all of you enjoy the view as much as I do and hope that you will continue to follow me on my journey into darkness. Thanks again.
@sarraphoto you are welcome, we admire your work, i read recently that most of the world's population live where there is too much light pollution to even see the stars! what a pity, makes images like yours even more compelling for them. I have been giving it a go every now and then and people always comment on our dark skies, i am lucky to be able to see the milky way all year round as well.
@kali66 thanks. Vermont has some pretty dark skies but I went to Maine last week and was surprised how much darker it was there. ( a lot less people there). We only have galactic center visible from late February to September. You are very fortunate to be in the southern hemisphere with dark skies. Australia is beautiful I spent 3 weeks one the east cost I went from Cairns to Canberra in 1994. Loved every minute.
@kali66@sarraphoto I love the night shots, but I live in one of the places that Kali mentioned - I am outside with the clear sky behind me and barely see stars. I'd love to see the milky way someday!
Sondra @sarraphoto is the queen of the night shots
