New b&w-20 challenge - "Capture that Expression"

October 15th, 2017

Calling all photographers of portraits - animal or human portraits!
This is your chance to try a black and white portrait which has a wonderful expression as its focus. It can be pure joy, sadness, wonder, bewilderment, amazement - anything you can capture. The expression could even be shown on a selfie if you don't want to coerce a friend or relative!!

Please note that you are encouraged to enter as many times as you wish - the more the merrier!

After that intro, I would like to thank Madeline @granagringa for organizing the b&w refraction challenge. It produced so many wonderful images.

So --- the topic for the black and white challenge 20 is “To Capture that Expression"

Start of the challenge16/10/2017

Finish of the challenge: 6/11/2017

Tag for the challenge: bw-20 Please note that there is no “&” in the tag!

Rules for the challenge: Photos must be taken and posted within the time frame of the challenge.

nice topic, it could also be a self portrait i suppose
October 15th, 2017
@kali66 A self portrait would be a really good idea - no need to coerce someone else!!

This is a very poor photo of our gorgeous Zoe - but we love it because it just captures her wonderful love of life! I'm sure all of you can produce images much better than this - remember - it doesn't have to be a human - and as Kali mentioned - it could be a great "selfie".

Just to keep the thread alive - here is another black and white portrait - this time showing Errol in a very unfamiliar hat. And he is wondering why he was the lucky one chosen to wear it!!

Meekness

@caterina Hi Caterina - thanks for your entry - You've caught his expression - and for such a big guy he really is meek! Thank you Rob Z

@robz rob I thought was a she and pregnant. Are the horns a sign of virility? I'll check the larger image to check for more certain signs of virility😜

@caterina You could quite possibly be correct - maybe that's why she's so meek? Just naturally calm and pleasant!

Checked. Female and pregnant. Maybe that's the reason. But I don't think cows have a very vivacious expression anyway. @robz

@difof105 Hi Di - thanks for entering your image into the challenge - and for posting it here - he has a very whimsical expression - very hard to read his thoughts. A 25th anniversary must induce a range of emotions. Cheers Rob Z
