hii (: so...i'm completely out of ideas and unispired. i have no idea what to do!! it's so frustrating :( it snowed a ton so i feel like i should go take pictures but the last few times i tried to get some shots i took around 100 shots and only liked 2 of them...so i got frustrated, and havent' picked my cam up in about a week. i tried my usual way of inspiration - looking through photos on google and on here, and NOTHING happend. i didn't get any ideas. so..i was wondering if those of you who kinda know my style / my limitations etc if any of you had any ideas for me (: or a way to get me inspired!!!!!

thanks soo much in advance!!!!

When the weather is no cooperating and it feels like there's just nothing new out there to shoot, I either cook or bake something and practice shooting a scene that would look like it would go in a cook book. Or, I do a product shot....think un-used nice soaps, perfume bottle, coffe cups, silver ware etc, etc. Just look around you, there's tons of stuff.

Random objects always help me get through those days where I'm completely uninspired. Also if you like to bake or cook, take some extra time to make it look nicer than usual and that makes a good photo. Do a week where you just photograph nature or a colour. If you go to events take a photo. Bring your camera everywhere you go. The world is exploding with insiration. Feel free to do anything. After all, 365 is a year of your life!

Explore your city or areas in the country - become a tourist in your home town. Look at it with fresh eyes - you'll be amazed at all the things you never noticed before!

Buy a new accessory or lens for your camera, that always livens things up. Or maybe go visit a new city or place in your town. Just a couple of ideas! :)

If it helps any, snow is a blank canvas. There really needs to be something there to make it interesting. Now, about your issue: I sincerely recomend that you try to spend a few days sticking to a theme, or one kind of picture that fits a style that you choose. Make sure it's something your like; a color, a profession, plants, people, etc. and work on that. In time you'll be wanting to make that theme more interesting to you.
Get a peice of paper and write down ideas you want to try. when candid pics and just waiting for something to come along isn't working, Make a science out of photography! Plan ahead :D

Try street signs...or take a room in your house and shoot different things in it. Or try shooting from a different perspective...Crawl around the floor and see the world from the perspective of a child or pet...try shooting body parts...pick a color and find something interesting. Or word art...find things in every day life that look like a particular letter...

Does that help???

Try an alphabet challenge - Something that starts with A, then B, and so on. It helped me once. :-)

How and where do I add photos to the theme/competition, I have just joined and I'm very lost
January 11th, 2011
@misspeta Welcome to the project! When you upload your photos, you have to type in the appropriate tag for the theme. For instance "theme-blue". If you click on the themes and competition link under discuss, then read about the current theme, Ross explains it probably better than I just did. Good luck!
