I hope Bronwyn doesn't mind me doing this......and I am new around here so I hope no one else minds either...but, wherever you are I believe you may have heard about the devastating flooding in Queensland Australia.
(I had some links to put in here, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to link them??)
Bronwyn's image touched me.
I propose, that in support of the flood victims, that YOU produce a similar image on Friday 14th January as your Photo of the Day.....
Nice thought. There's so little we, outside Australia, can do but to send messages of support. Our thoughts are with them and hope the disastrous weather they ae suffering comes to an end soon.
This was my photo for the losses of some online friends AND the flood victims, i have family in those areas and hoping everyone is trying their best to keep safe.
A few other ladies from a forum i am on are also doing tribute pics... let me know if you'd like me to post some links
I was inspired to do a candle tribute too, after seeing the constant news reports and some friends and relatives facebook status updates.. luckily they are ok, but I shed a tear or two for those not so lucky. A very sad time for Queenslanders.
My dad is there right now. His girlfriend posted this to FaceBook:
Went on a walk just now - this is about 15 minutes walk from where we are staying. People we talked to on these streets are taking it in stride and the water is receding fast but there will be a lot of mud and cleanup. Thankfully majority of people are safe and were evacuated in time. Heard of some flash flooded areas where people were not so lucky. Life is precious. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs773.ash1/166387_1729313347944_1091762054_2025170_1708074_n.jpg

I am in Brisbane but away from the floods. But poor Tadii @taidster has lost everything.
...and on old school friend has lost her husband and daughter. Unfathomable.
@jembelina this is great! Love the little baby's hand! so cute!
wow .. I'm stunned. Love the other photo's, it's great seeing people come together to show their support.
For those affected, I'm sure I can speak for us all when I say you aren't alone, our love and thoughts are with you all xx
