minimalist street challenge

June 6th, 2018
thank you so much to Catherine @gozoinklings for setting up this new minimalist challenge with revolving themes... it's such a great idea!

i also want to say thank you to @pistache for hosting the last round (mini sea/land/cityscape)... and to everyone who participated and voted... i was thrilled to win and now i guess i get to set up the next round... street minimalism!

here are Catherine's original instructions for the challenge:

---
Many definitions & examples of minimalist photography out there to consider. I offer you this as a guideline: Minimalism is indeed the art of less. As a life philosophy, minimalists focus on a few essential elements of life and cast unnecessary things aside. Same pretty much goes for this photography style. Keep effects and processing to a minimum also :o)

To narrow down the entries for each challenge, we'll have 5 themes and repeat them in cycles.

mini-urban details (doors, windows, building details, bridges, stairs furnishing etc..)
mini-sea/land/cityscape
mini-street
mini-texture/form
mini-light/shadow

(The winner of this challenge will then start the 'mini-scape1', the winner of that will start 'mini-street1', next will be 'mini-textform1' then 'mini-lightshadow1' and then on with 'mini-urban2')
---

we're now on to the first round of street minimalism... it begins today, June 5 (or what's left of it) and will end June 20... i'll then post a shortlist of finalists and, as always, everyone will have a chance to vote ...

tag your images mini-street1

if you also post to this thread, it will keep it active. you might also share any definitions you find about minimalism, and general thoughts about what qualifies and what doesn't, and how you went about composing your image ...

have fun and i look forward to seeing your minimalist interpretations
