New EOTB Challenge

April 21st, 2020
I am proud to be hosting the new Eye of the Beholder challenge. Many thanks to those who voted for my Parallel Lines.

When something shouts out to you to grab the camera, even if it is something most people would be puzzled to see you photographing, that is EOTB. A suggestion is to zero in on whatever it is that attracted you and perhaps use some judicious cropping so the viewer also sees what you see.

You will need to find a way to portray your subject so that it comes across differently and aesthetically pleasing. This is a wonderful opportunity to challenge yourself in giving recognition to something that seems just ordinary or plain.

You can achieve this any way you wish but remember it is not an post-processing or editing challenge so a bit of editing is okay, but please do not overdo it. This is a great challenge to help with composition and lighting skills. The way you compose the shot or the way you use light will bring out the beauty of your subject. It will also help you look at your surroundings differently.

There is no specific item or theme for this challenge, but you will want to find a subject that if people were watching you taking the shot, they would be wondering what on earth has possessed you to photograph something which seems so ordinarily, plain, bland, boring, ugly, etc.

The challenge begins (I am losing track of days) on or about the 12th of April and will end on Sunday, the 10th of May at midnight your time. The tag is EOTB-119.

I love this challenge and look forward to seeing what captured your attention!
