Winner of minimal-16 challenge

March 12th, 2021
It has been drawn to my attention that I need to count the votes on the minimal-16 challenge and announce the winner (thank you very much, Wendy @farmreporter)

Let's all congratulate Vikki @summerfield who is going to set up the next minimal challenge. Whoop! Whoop! to the praying mantis can opener (wait! whaat?)

@monikozi - very nice, and thank you for this, but i did my own re-count and #12 entry, @jnorthington Judy N clearly had 6 votes more than i got and should be declared the winner for this round. while i'm quite humbled that the win is being handed to me, i do not think that it is fair to judy nor to the other entries. i recommend that a new vote be held, with fewer entries -- i know, it's difficult to trim down the finalists to just a few numbers especially with such great entries, but such is the state of things.

i would gladly do the re-vote for you if you are unable to do it. 😊

@summerfield the redistribution of the winner has been done due to Judy not responding. Wendy has asked me to count the votes and declare the next participant as the winner.
Of course we did not mean to be unfair to Judy. Apparently she hasn't posted for a month now. Hope all's well in her world.

@summerfield @monikozi
Thank you both for your cooperation!
I did not want to see this great challenge fall through the cracks so am happy that things have worked out.

@farmreporter @summerfield
I am sorry for not having been more transparent. But i did not want to create much fuss... As usual, it seems that being straightforward is much more efficient. As they say: truth is the best lie. :D
If you two think that we can do another voting, I'm fine. Just let me know.

@monikozi
I don't think we need another vote. The tradition is to give the second place winner the opportunity to pick up the reins when the first place winner does not respond.
You have handled this perfectly!
