Congratulations to Carl Rice for winning the Reflections weekly theme. If you want to "reflect" on last weeks theme, click here to check out all the entries.
Carl has choosen self-portraits as this weeks theme, "So it's spring and time for people to show there face." This is a great challenge as taking self-portraits is one of the most challenging, yet rewarding subject matters to photograph.
As always, to enter your photo to this weeks theme, you need to upload and tag a photo with the tag "theme-showyourface"
Entry to this theme starts on Monday (12th April) and will accept entries until Sunday night (23:59 GMT 18th April), voting will begin the following day.
Entries must have been taken and uploaded this week only! Entries outside of the date range will not be accepted. You can enter up to 7 entries (one for each day of the week).
@iiwi - I will use a remote control, most of the DSLRs have this capability, some may use a cable release or timer (especially for the 'point and shoot' cameras)
yay this is a perfect excuse to finally buy a remote for my camera! (although i doubt if i buy one online i'll get it in time, but i've needed an excuse!)
i don't have a remote so i have to put the camera on the tripod. i setup the timer and then run back in front of the camera...by the time it starts shooting, i look like a person who just put the camera on the tripod on a timer and then ran back in front of the camera....not a pretty sight =)
I've always thought of self portraits in several ways, either an image of my face or an image of something else, anything else, that is representative of who I am. Thoughts? I can absolutely say *ditto* to Kayleigh's comment above but I do like finding representations of myself through other things as well.
@ Ira you must. :) I have to admit it has been fun seeing everyones face. It has also gotten my creativity flowing thinking of ways to do a portait that aren't your typical " cheese this is me" for 7 days.
Is anyone else noticing how nice-looking everyone is...? I mean, these are the people so often "behind the camera" and they all have such great faces! Lots of character and beauty and whimsey and charm...
I'm here to "say" ***clap clap clap*** to all of you...I'm so enjoying looking each eveing at all your faces! Smile & say "Cheese"...you look fabulous!
Well I really thought I'd chicken out of this one. After all, isn't this why I am always on the other side of the camera?!
I was on the ferry taking a few shots of Sydney Harbour when I looked around to see if anyone was watching, quickly turned the camera around and clicked once, resulting in the photo that I submitted for my self portrait. Not bad for a quick reflex shot! http://365project.org/margaretg/365/2010-04-15
ok
@iiwi - I have a point and shoot so I will be working with my tripod and a self timer. Yay. =P LOL
Of course I took a selfie last week to show my new haircolor! lol... Guess I will have to take another :)
I guess now's agood time to get soem practice in
What an evil new theme...evil.
...EVIL!
But maybe this can encourage me to do a non-blurry self-portrait. We'll see. ;-)
But unfortunately, I didn't take the picture... :(

It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be
