How should the quote challenge work?

March 31st, 2011
For those who missed it. I started a fortnightly quote challenge. This means that you have to go out and take a picture that fits with whatever quote is provided...

What I was thinking...

To enter:
Tag your photo with the tag supplied.

Rules:
- The quote must appear in your image or as a title.
- Entries must have been taken and uploaded during the specified timeline.
- The winner of the previous challenge gets to pick the next quote.

How the winner is determined:
- The person who picked the quote will give me their top 5 that they feel best fits with the quote they provided. I will then create a discussion encouraging people to vote out of that top five and then the person with the most views, comments and fav's combined will win. (PS: I feel that comments that are a part of a conversation on someones photo shouldn't count, what do you guys think?)

Winners will then be announced along with the next challenge.

BY ALL MEANS FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST BETTER WAYS OF HANDLING THE COMPETITION, JUST DON'T BITE MY HEAD OFF :P I'M TRYING TO MAKE THIS AS FAIR AS POSSIBLE.

As for {Quote Challenge #1} changed! keep the entries coming in, we'll postpone the due date if need be. Sorry for the confusion, but everything will be sorted comes challenge 2 - bear with me!!!

Hmmm, idk if including comments/views/favs is a good idea - unfair advantage to some, no?
March 31st, 2011
then how do people vote, on the discussion? @indiannie_jones

Maybe assign a number to a photo and they just post the number?
March 31st, 2011
@indiannie_jones @marinda I think that the views, comments and favs are not great. Because, what if there's someone quite new, doesnt have many followers, and even if his shot is really great, he wont manage to be seen by the people.

I would prefer a simple vote. But it's just my opinion.

@lalola616 I agree. but I'm looking for ideas as to how people will vote?
March 31st, 2011
I say, once the top 5 is figured out, have the pictures displayed in a new thread and just let the people of 365 vote on who wins. That seems to be the fair-est of them all. A beautiful capture may not have that many views, comments or favs. Sometimes those have that many comments are due to the amount of followers they have.
Hope this tid-bit of opinion helps out :)

I agree, just assign each finalist photo a number and let people vote -- the voting process for the weekly theme seems to work well.
