Wine and Computers

March 7th, 2012
This is so much fun, I've never started a discussion before but I had to share.

What you do, you create some kind of pattern in whatever program you use (photoshop for me) and you get a wine glass, try and get it spotlessly clean. That bit is very difficult.

Then you put the wine glass in front of the monitor, turn off the lights, and take photos. It might not sound like much, but I intended on watching a film tonight, and I've been doing this for an hour and a half now...

I prefer mine with wine in, but this is really fab! : ))

March 7th, 2012
With such a title I expected to see wine in the glass...or on the computer :-0
Great idea though, love the zebra glass!

March 7th, 2012

March 7th, 2012
thanx for the idea! got me inspired:)

Oh honey, the SIN of your empty glass just throws me over the edge. Fill it UP! :o)

Okay, a full glass doesn't last long around me. Maybe you drank it already.

LOVE this, by the way!
March 7th, 2012
@jenp So you have a wine gremlin too! ; )
March 7th, 2012
@lorraineb - yep!!! ;o)
March 7th, 2012
This is so fabulous! I hope the last steps really are fill glass, drink wine.
March 7th, 2012
@jenp This is a champagne flute, I'm not that posh. I did have a nice glass of Cab Sav close at hand while taking this :)

@reba Yes they are, go forth and have fun :D
March 8th, 2012
@beeblebear - I can NOT believe I didn't notice it was a flute!

I am jealous though. I'm low carbing it right now, so no wine for me. Really, that's probably THE hardest part! LOL!!!
March 8th, 2012
OoooOOOoooooOOOOhhh! Might just try this!
March 8th, 2012
@pwallis DO IT! Honestly, I feel a bit like someone trying to start a cult. It's so much fun, I want everyone to share in my joy :D
March 8th, 2012
@jenp I like to do a variation on the low carb thing. One day of eating whatever, including the drinking part, then follow the diet the rest of the week. My dad came up with it after I complained and he has lost about 20lbs so far. Salud!
@beeblebear great idea. So doing this after TSA pays for a new laptop.
March 8th, 2012
@bookcasefrenzy - so I hate to hijack this thread, but I was wondering about taking a cheat day and if it would defeat the whole purpose?!! The cheat day doesn't stall him? I know that if you do low carb, it usually takes about 3 days to get to ketosis and that's when max fat burning occurs (I HAVE to be on a low carb per Dr's suggestion because of a metabolic screw up and this will help fix it in the long run) I love my wine and usually drink it about once a week and I'm missing it right now!
March 8th, 2012
@jenp. I don't think you hijacked it as much as that guy! My dad had gained a lot of weight over the past year (his only brother passed suddenly) and the "Day of Dispensation" as he calls it hasn't stalled him at all. He doesn't really cheat as much though, just because his habits have changed and he feels crappier sooner so he stops.

i tried and failed miserably, Kevin... gonna try again another day.
March 8th, 2012
I think I've been trying to do this for an hour & a half now...surely my bath is cold & dinner is burned. And mine doesn't look like that haha.
March 8th, 2012
Here is the image I created using a wine glass and a desktop background. Thanks for the very creative instructions.
March 8th, 2012
My $0.02 lol...

Mine was for a green them awhile back. That's yellow liquid in the glass.

May 18th, 2012
@beeblebear So cool! OK, it seems that using diagonal lines or a pattern that runs in a diagonl flow give the best results. Was there a specific place where you found the black and white prints that you could share with me. I have searched high and low and have not been able to come up with anything but mainly picture type wallpaper. Thanks for your help. Excited to try this! @tamsg4

@shirljess I think I just did a Google image search for patterns/ b&w patterns!
