Lightroom 3: Making borders

December 29th, 2010
Hi guys...

I need help on making borders for the pictures I export.
I found the option to add border in my pictures using Lightroom 3, but every time I try to export the photos, only the watermark and other post processing I made appears but not the borders.

here's what I do:

1. I take one picture and go to DEVELOP tab of lightroom.
2. then I go to SLIDESHOW tab to add borders
3. I right click on the image and click export

after that the new file don't have borders in it. How can I do this right??

I am guessing that the borders you are setting apply to the slideshow only.

This may help ...

wow, this is a nice and cool way to add borders, thanks a lot Graham... :)

but how about for batch pictures?? is it possible with Lightroom 3?

I don't believe it is possible without use of an externally developed plug-in. You can certainly do batch border functions for a slideshow, but that's back to square one.

Try this site, which talks about the relevant plug-in.

Have you ever heard of a free software to create web galleries? I have been using for quite some time and it is soooo easy to use. It makes galleries like this: http://www.simonevision.com/cameracats2/

The software is called PORTA, and the download is in the link below.

It is really fast(most galleries are created in less then 60 seconds, and you can select how wide your border is for display).
I recommended for lots of photographers and they like it too :)

I use LR/Mogrify2 plugin. It is donationware, but the free version is good for up to ten images per batch. Excellent tool, and does so much more than just borders.
