Panoramics?

How do I get them to look right? I am trying to take pictures of rooms in our house to show my family the full view. They all live 3000 miles away and want to see our new house. And i like to play around in PSE :) Well I tried one today, and I set my camera up in one part of the room and did a sweep of the room, using my remote to shoot and then did the photomerge in PSE and everything looks all misshapen... Any tips to make it better?

Which photomerge layout did you use? I don't know if PSE has the same options as regular PS, but there are something like 6 different options. You may have to experiment with the one that works.

Also, if you have the checkbox for "geometric distortion correction" you may want to try that turned off and on to see how it affects the final result.

Did you use a tripod? Why not just use video?

@icywarm Because I like to play with pictures ;)

Ok but did you use a tri-pod? Panos are very delicate things, often software can make things easier but a good tripod and a pano head are worth their costs/weight

Indoor panos are very difficult to do without significant stitching errors. Not only do you need a tripod, but you need something like a nodal ninja -- http://www.nodalninja.com/products/panoheads/nodalninja3.html

Here's my attempt at doing one with a nodal ninja, and I still have some stitching errors. http://365project.org/sudweeks/365/2010-07-09

It's easier to see with this viewer -- http://seb.perez-duarte.net/panoviewer/?photo=4779371432

But try stitching it up with hugin instead of PSE. Hugin takes some getting used to, and for best results you need to put in the anchor points yourself, but it's free and it does work well.
