This has probably been asked and answered before (I did a quick search but nothing came up recently, so...), I've been asked to take photos for a friend's wedding - terrifying... and need a flash!
I have a Canon 40D and three different Canon lenses -> a 50mm 1:1.4, a 28-105mm 1:3.5-4.5 and a 100-300mm 1:4.5-5.6
I'm guessing the prime is going to be best (?), but I will need an external flash for the pictures inside. Does anyone else use a Canon and an external flash for taking pictures like this? Any suggestions as to which one I should go for? Or what I should look for?
I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money, but if I'm going to get one, it may as well be a good one!
@lottie Vikdaddy's is a sound idea, I use an older 420EZ, which means manual only on a 10D but if you don't mind manual power control *auto zoom will work fine then they're cheap second hand.
@killerjackalope@sosaboe@thomas_lans - thank you all for speedy replies and advice! I had a look at the 430exii and think I should probably buy it soon so that I have time to figure out how to use it (it has almost as many buttons on as my p+s camera - scary!). My next discussion will be... "How on earth do you use it"!!! :-) Thanks again.

It has some practical ideas under the lighting 101 tab.
Good luck!
