I did my very first panorama a couple of weeks ago, not as impressive as yours but I have to start somewhere.
I used Photomatix to process the bracketed shots (about 7 x 3 exposures) then used Hugin Panorama Photo Stitcher to join them all together. One day I'll get some grown up editing software and I'll be able to do your extra processing.
I don't know how many Megapixels I ended up with but its 9024 x 1623 tiny dots.
@natsnell nice job. It's a 14 Megapixel pano (9024x1623/1024/1204=13.96)
One thing I would try to fix is the blown sky on the left. Check your darkest exposure for that area and if there are details in the sky you might be able to blend it in. If you don't have any details you could use another area of the sky and paste it into that area.
@meckimac Thanks, yes I looked back at my individual images and it looks like I can get a lot more cloud detail. It seem I still need to learn how to use Hugin or get some other software as it is doing something which is causing the bright area on the left, some sort of exposure or white balance compensation to blend them all together. Maybe on my next one I will avoid going from really bright to really dark.

Impeccable timing.
