how to find subjects with mixed terms - solution

May 11th, 2011
I just made a discovery about the search feature and mixed terms (say "screen door"). If you put "screen door" or even screen AND door in the search box it brings up all the photos tagged as either screen or door as well as those tagged "screen door." However if you go to a photo with the actual tag "screen door" (one of your own or someone else's) and click on that, only the photos specifically tagged with the combined term "screen door" will come up. After I post something I often like to look at others with the same tag and I was very frustrated that I didn't think I could single them out when the tag was a combined term. Hope this helps some other compulsive soul. Have a great day in photography!

Or put quotes around it in the search box :)

No - that's just what I'm saying - that doesn't work. Maybe it's just on Macs, but when I put quotes around the term it brings up photos that match either term.

I just tried "screen door" on a PC and it's bringing up both "screen" and "door" searches, not just "screen door".

Yes @lolanae - my problem exactly. I'm happy though to now have a way that works for me. Hope you find it useful too.

thank you. I have struggled with that myself.

@reba Sorry I assumed that worked, got it now.

Instead of using the search box go to the address bar and from http://365project.org/

Just add tags/what you want to search

so it'd be http://365project.org/tags/what you want to search

All modern browsers autocorrect spaces to %20 so it's dead easy

**The text editor here automatically turns links in to clickable ones - it skips spaces so that's why it stops at what
