Any ideas on how to pull off this shot? I'm guessing some sort of panoramic blending but the circle seems really smooth.

you can get a "tiny planets" app for iphone that will do this effect - it's the "tube" vs the "planet". they have a high-res option on the app for 2000x2000 pixel images.

I also used the rainbow gradient that I'd learnt about from
@flamez
, was great fun playing around with it.

I used GIMP to do mine and was really simple to do.

If you have photoshop it is under filter/Distort/Polar Co-ordinates.
