Ratana Church Raetihi by dkbarnett

Ratana Church Raetihi

We drove back home from Taupo yesterday and took the long way round, driving down the Desert Road, Ohakune, then Whanganui and back to Taranaki. This is Te Whare Whakamoemiti which is in Raetihi. It is the first replica of the Ratana Temple at Ratana Pa built around 1920.

Great capture. It almost looks painted on the landscape

@suez1e Thanks Sue - I guess this is partly because it was a long exposure and the clouds are really soft ...?

Dramatic with the long exposure. Nicely colored and composed

VML the moody blues here…an enormous contrast to the Moody Blues!

Kia ora Delwyn. I’m from Taranaki too, many moons ago. Just love this shot.

Gracious Delwyn, that church looks like it’s just balancing precariously on the very top of that hill…if you stood on one side it might tip one way like a seesaw. Amazing & rather fascinating. Fave.
