Coastal cavern by dkbarnett

Coastal cavern

Another stop on my drive north. This is very typical of this coast with the cliffs and black sand.
This is so interesting - like the reflections and the layers of rock in the cliffs. Do the caves go back far?

Great layers of rock in the cliffs. Don't think I have ever seen black sand.

@fbailey I'm not sure if this goes far back in or not. I have never stopped in this spot before.
@littleconnie The black sand comes from our mountain so from Taranaki and right up the west coast the sand is black - although as it goes up the coast it gets progressively lighter.
@paul10 Thanks Paul :-)
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie:-)
@mv_wolfie Thanks very much Mariana :-)
@robz Thanks Rob - the black sand when it is wet is great for reflections
