Champagne Pool by dkbarnett

Champagne Pool

The Champagne Pool at Waiotapu is very beautiful. On the surface of the lake the temperature is 100 degrees celsius so there was lots of steam. Especially so because it was a rainy day anyway. The colour is caused by the large amount of minerals leached out of the surrounding rock by the very hot water - estimated to be up to 300 degrees celsius.
Great place to visit. This is my favourite
