Wrecked Pier by dkellogg

Wrecked Pier

One of many damaged piers at the Texas coast. The tropical depression last week did not have any major winds, but a 2-3 foot storm surge and 10 inches of rain flooded the town of Rockport. I spent last week mucking out the downstairs of my coast house.
nice one :)

I'm so sorry about the damage along that coastline, and to your house.

It's not only the wind that's dangerous in low-pressure systems - oftentimes it's the storm surge, as is the case with this storm, especially now with rising sea levels.

This a superb image demonstrating the aftermath of these destructive forces.

Amazing capture of this ocean in turmoil! Sorry about the damage to your home, the price one pays on prime property.

Sad but nature has to show its might every now and then. Great damage to the quay it seems.
