Day 60 of 365: Heritage

2015 March 1: I am in a couple of "365" groups; one of them sends daily prompts to help us notice mundane details of everyday life that should be cherished but are easily overlooked. Today's prompt was "heritage" so I chose to title my challenge photo "My Heritage: A Love of Learning" with the following explanation:

I inherited my love of learning from my mother: After serving in the navy during WWII, my mother returned home and became a newspaper journalist ...one of the first two female journalists ever in our region! Mom loved information, ideas, and concepts; I grew up with books, magazines, and newspapers that were as much a part of my normal daily life as breathing. I enjoyed our frequent trips to our local library and the used bookstore.

I have grown to love eBooks as much as hard-copy books, but I admit that one of the most comforting feelings in the world is curling up with a good blanket and book on a cold winter day! For me, it is part of my heritage that it takes a home library to make a house a home!
A very pretty collage and home library!! I'm not a reader because I am dyslectic, but have always loved book shelves full of books!! They seem so comforting for some reason!! Beautiful photo and wonderful memories of your Mom! FAV!

Looks like a very cozy spot to curl up with a blanket, cup of tea, and a good book.
