2016.02.23 Tuesday: While walking around my yard today I looked for more signs of spring ...and found that the buds on my Tulip Magnolia are beginning to open. This is remarkable: This bush usually does not bloom for another month!
Our weather this week is expected to fluctuate quite wildly: Today was pleasingly warm; storms are blowing through tonight; and then we are expecting snow flurries for a couple of days!
(This is rabbit-trail, but: We are very blessed that none of the storms blowing through our area tonight are expected to be strong! My husband and I lived in Pensacola, Florida for several years ...All evening long we have been hearing reports that a tornado hit there today, causing severe damage and injuring several people.
The Weather Service reports that at least 7 tornadoes touched down in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida (the Gulf Coast region). We are very grateful that none of our friends in that region were hurt!)
Anyway, back to my pic: I applied several painterly textures to my photo of this Tulip Magnolia bud, and blended them to make it look more artistic.
A beautiful work of art! I really like the painterly quality you gave this! Amazing what this unusual weather is doing to the plants. It will be an interesting Spring. I'm glad that none of your friends were hurt, too. So sad to hear of more weather disasters.
I hope those storms stay away.
