2016.08.12 Friday: This photo is from last night, when my son and I sat outdoors in our lawn chairs watching for meteors from the Perseid meteor shower. We watched for an hour, seeing a total of 9 bright meteors streaking across the nighttime sky; I am certain that there were a lot more to be seen, but there is a lot of light pollution in our neighborhood.
While watching, I noticed the moon hovering near the street light in front of our house. I enjoyed seeing these two quite different sources of light shining through our dogwood trees.
