2016.11.29 Tuesday: Storms went through my area tonight, so I snapped a pic of our television while we were watching to see where warnings were being issued. Storms are such a part of life here that when we hear a tornado siren, everyone runs outdoors to see if the winds are actually bad or not!
My part of town only got some much-needed rain, but some other parts experienced power outages and some damage.
Neighboring counties had much stronger storms. One of our local weathermen posted, "...we have some neighbors throughout the state that are hurting badly for loss of homes, family members and friends. Pray for these folks...but for the grace of God it would be you or me."
My neighborhood has always been a sheltered place; several years ago a significant tornado flattened an entire neighborhood 3 miles down the road, but at our house only a few roofing shingles were damaged. I am grateful for God's protecting grace!
I am so happy to finally know what the D of DS stands for! And I also happy to hear you're ok after all those storms. When severe weather hits it's always a blessing that some are safe and a sorrow that others suffer- but what an opportunity for a community to come together and support each other. I'll be praying for your area as the pick up the pieces and try to put them back together before the holiday.
