Our local farm shop is situated a little way outside the town and is a thriving business. I go there to buy sausages - they're much better than supermarket ones. We had toad-in-the-hole for tea tonight so I went there this afternoon. It's an entertaining place to visit; there's a plump Shetland pony in a field, and another small field full of hens happily scratching and feeding - and supplying the shop with free range eggs. And in the hedge there are sparrows. I spent 10 minutes or so taking photos while I was there today and managed to get a shot of this little fella.

Thank you, everyone. :-) @jenrobcarr It's sausages in a roasting pan, surrounded by Yorkshire pudding batter and oven cooked. I put chunks of red onion in the batter as well. Good old comfort grub. :-D
Took another look at this one... where have all the sparrows gone? Once upon a time they seemed to flock - now you hardly ever see them. Must follow that one up and find out if there really is a problem.
@netkonnexion There is. They have been disappearing from towns for some time, although still seen in the countryside. As I recall no-one knows the cause.
