Mum! Make it fly, Mum!

Works best on magnified.
Having beaten a hasty retreat into auto settings!
This little boy looked quite devastated because the kite was not working. Mum soon had it airborne, though. I wish the lady to the left in the background hadn't had a bright red coat, she steals the show a bit. Some people are so inconsiderate! ;-)
This was taken on Dunstable Downs. We went there for lunch so that the Beefburger Quality Control Manager (Gareth) could make sure they're still up to standard. And take some shots, of course. This one's done with the standard lens - there's probably a more accurate designation for it. It's nice to have a proper view finder again. For me, the hardest part of getting used to the compact was working with a screen.
oh, I love this!

That's an awesome shot! Good story with it, too. Love it. (You could consider toning down the bright red coat with an image editing software?) I only use a compact camera and I love previewing through the screen. (I'll probably never upgrade to a DSLR! 8D )

@woot Thank you :-)
@myautofocuslife Thank you, Livia :-) I've changed the colour of people's clothes in other shots but I'm not very good at it :( I love my compact to bits, it's great fun and, up til now, it's all I've used on 365 but what I still find so difficult is trying to see what I'm taking on a sunny day. Perhaps I'd be better off with polaroid sunglasses rather than photochromic lenses in my specs?

Aw, he looks so disconsolate! Glad it worked out for him.

Nice new camera! Very generous husband. And you will certainly make good use of it.

A great shot! It looks like the people in the background are just ignoring the poor little lad. Every picture tells a story.

No, really the red coat doesn't steal it. It's a lovely picture. I'm pleased the poor boy's kite does get going otherwise I'd be sad.
