The Palladian bridge at Stowe by dulciknit

The Palladian bridge at Stowe

Probably better on large view if you have a moment.
Lester has quite a bit of melodeon fixing to do just at the moment so I took myself off to Stowe Landscape Gardens near Buckingham for the day today. We went there together a little while ago; the gothic temple folly in the background is in another shot in my project album.
I had my sights set on getting some shots of this rather grand bridge across one of the lakes at Stowe. For the first time I needed to tote a tripod round with me. It was a bit of a nightmare trying to manage a camera bag, tripod, money and a tray at the cafe. I think I'm going to sign up for some juggling lessons. :-D
There's some other shots from Stowe here : http://365project.org/dulciknit/on-the-day-extr/2012-04-11

This is a super composition, especially with the temple in the background. What a unique bridge - low the colors and the textures your picture has.

Great pov and composition on this. Takes your eye up that path to the house. The bridge capture is excellent. Have you thought of a monopod, still something to carry around, but a bit smaller than tripod.

That is a beautiful composition. You dwell on the brdge and then you are taken up the path to the house. What a lovely place to visit.

What a lovely scene, and so very British! Well worth the effort of juggling lessons!

Thank you, everyone. :-)
@jennywren Thank you for the suggestion Jen. I tend to use a tripod just for long exposure shots and, unfortunately, a monopod isn't sufficiently stable for those. A great shame, because they're a lot less cumbersome and awkward, I think.

It may not have been easy doing an octopus routine without the 8 arms to back it up, but it was worthwhile I would say! Beautiful shot Xx
