Lester did some gardening today and came across this little fella hopping about in the flower bed.
I'm a bit cross with myself about the lack of focus (doesn't look too bad until you go to large view) in this, a typical result of a flustered he-might-go-at-any-moment-and-I'll-lose-my-only-chance-of-a-shot-for-the-day action. Oh well, it happens!
Edit. 21st May. I didn't think his eyes were in focus, especially noticeable when viewed large, but I'm coming to the conclusion I need some glasses for close work. :-)

Yes his eyes certainly are great and that's something that's usually hard to catch. We all do the must get it quick shot, it's still a nice one even if not to your wishes.
It's a great capture! Sometimes things happen too quickly but it doesn't detract from the interest. You have to view each picture differently and this is well done!
Aw, thank you for the encouraging comments, everyone. :-) @jenrobcarr Thank you, Jennifer. :-) Yeah, I'm happy with the shallow dof but I thought his eyes weren't in focus - it notices on large view. When other people said it looked fine, I put my distance glasses on, sat back from the screen and double checked. They look OK then. I think maybe I need to get some glasses for close work! :-D
