Having got into a muddle over the dates of the steam car display, I decided to go back to Waddesdon today to see the cars. I've seen steam locomotives, traction engines, lorries, static engines but never cars, so I was intrigued.
The information on the Manor website said that about 30 cars were expected to make a stop at the Manor while on their tour but that numbers couldn't be guaranteed because of break-downs.
Guess what? Not a single one turned up!!
Anyway, here's another view of the Manor. This is part of the rear of the building. It's not as elaborate as the front, of course, because you don't need to be so impressive round by the back door. The golden colour of the stone is as near to the real colour as you can get. I took some of the colour out of the shot I did yesterday for effect.
Lester and I belong to the National Trust, which owns the Manor. The annual membership fee entitles us to free entry into all their properties and you don't have to go to many places before you start saving money on entry fees. Membership's really good value for money.

Alison, this sounds like such an interesting place. I really like how you angled this shot, just beautiful, and the colours are captured so well. I didn't realize you have palms in England! Interesting.
Great pov. Maybe there really arnt any steam cars, just a plot to get you there! You do show us some nice places. I need to make a note of them. This one almost has a Mediterranean look to the building, nice shot.
